Boreal Coffee Roasters
A complete rebrand and e-commerce build that positioned a regional roaster for national expansion.
The Challenge
Boreal had loyal local customers but no digital presence beyond a basic WordPress site. They wanted to expand nationally through direct-to-consumer e-commerce but their brand felt "local coffee shop" rather than "premium roaster." Their existing site wasn't mobile-friendly and had no e-commerce capability.
Our Approach
We started with brand strategy — defining what made Boreal different (single-origin sourcing, roast-to-order freshness, Canadian wilderness ethos). From there, we developed a complete visual identity system and built a responsive e-commerce platform with subscription management, optimized for mobile checkout.
The Results
Within 6 months of launch, online sales represented 35% of total revenue. The subscription program grew to 2,400 active subscribers. The brand redesign led to placement in 47 new retail locations. Mobile accounted for 72% of online orders, with a checkout completion rate of 68% — well above the industry average of 45%.
