The Challenge

Meridian's existing website was built in 2018 with Bootstrap 3 and had never been updated for modern mobile experiences. With 67% of their traffic coming from mobile devices, their conversion rate on phones was 0.4% compared to 3.2% on desktop. The site was also failing accessibility audits, putting them at risk of compliance issues.

Our Approach

We conducted a comprehensive UX audit, identified the critical user journeys, and rebuilt the entire frontend using a mobile-first approach with Tailwind CSS. Every component was designed as a responsive system — not just shrunk to fit. We implemented progressive enhancement for complex financial calculators and ensured WCAG 2.1 AA compliance throughout.

The Results

The new responsive site launched in 8 weeks. Mobile conversion rate jumped from 0.4% to 1.8% within the first month. Bounce rate dropped from 54% to 19%. The site achieved a Lighthouse performance score of 98 and passed all accessibility audits. Meridian's CTO called it "the smoothest website project we've ever run."
