Cloud migration and responsive dashboard that gave real-time visibility across a 200-truck fleet.
The Challenge
Pinnacle's fleet management ran on an on-premise system from 2012 that could only be accessed from office workstations. Dispatchers needed real-time visibility from any device. The system crashed during peak periods and had no disaster recovery plan.
Our Approach
We migrated the core system to AWS, built a real-time dashboard with WebSocket connections for live GPS tracking, and designed a responsive interface that worked equally well on a dispatcher's desktop monitor and a warehouse manager's phone. We implemented auto-scaling for peak loads and multi-region redundancy.
The Results
System uptime went from 94% to 99.97%. Dispatch efficiency improved by 28% with mobile access to real-time data. Infrastructure costs actually decreased by 15% compared to on-premise. The responsive dashboard is now used by 340 staff across 8 locations, with 45% of access from mobile devices.
